Award winning producer, writer and director Sara Proudfoot Clinch from Rosy Lee Production, has created a dynamic film 'Woodland Awakening' about the importance of trees, our dwindled public forests and endangered ancient woodlands.

After being asked by young woodland artist Bleau-Shanay Hudson to help make a film about the importance of trees and conservation, Sara researched around the subject and was alarmed by the statistics she found and the government's stance on the issue.  'Woodland Awakening' then became a short campaign film, endorsed by The Woodland Trust, aiming to raise publicity and awareness about the shocking reality of Britain's dwindling public forests and endangered ancient woodlands - only 33% and 4% remain respectively.  The film asks the questions - what is the government doing and what is our legacy for the next generation?

Since 2011 when public outrage caused the government to make a dramatic u-turn in selling off our public forest, the government's Independent Forestry Panel has been set up to determine what happens to them.  The panel runs from 2011 - 2015 but it still has a remit to sell 15% of our public forests!

If we don't want to lose any more public forests and want to save our ancient woodlands from extinction then we need to act now.

WE ARE NOT OUT OF THE WOODS YET.
