Community Dialogue for Change (CDG) is continuing with the theme of Scarcity and Abundance in a time of dramatic changes affecting our environment and in the context of the local and global economic recession.
CDG forum at BMECP, Brighton, focuses on the deepening government cuts that are eroding services, benefits and jobs. Together these are affecting the wellbeing and the ability of many to live sustainably.
CDG is pointing out that while a few continue to line their pockets, those least well off bear the biggest impact and uncertainty. Social injustice, fear of losing all that we have achieved is widespread. At the same time, social movements have arisen across the globe. Many are questioning perceived wisdom of how we live and organise our lives. Some seek alternatives that free us to live with what is abundant within our selves, our communities and our earth.
Can we use old wisdom and current insights to forge new pathways for us all? Can we reflect and be in this together?
Open Forum is a space for engaging with community issues. Forums give us a structured space to listen to each other, hear stories, work together in relationship through critical moments and explore ways forward. Experienced facilitators will support this process. We will build in space for networking with others. We can expect strong emotions to arise and to be supported.
All are most welcome and invited to this free forum, donations would be gratefully received.
